How on earth do they propose to calculate the first friday after such an event? Doesn't someone have to be around to trigger this? I can think of worse than "ouch" for this one.

Um, I assume there's some sort of automatic sending mechanism, maybe if they don't manually cancel it or something... I don't know much about mass emailing, but it's probably something like that. Maybe they hired an atheist to hit the button, too. Like Orthodox Jews hiring a Gentile to light their lamps on Sabbath.

Of course, they're assuming that the Internet would still be functioning after a catastrophe of this sort. I don't know enough about its structure to know the answer to that.
